In: Faith Living
1 Aug 2008Rev.:2:4: Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev.:2:5: Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
This Jesus we profess to love and serve should always be first in our lives. We need His guidance and example if we are to navigate the narrow way toward life eternal. There is a price and reward for following His commands.
M’t:16:24: Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
M’t:16:25: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Save your life for yourself. Ignore the words of this Saviour. Return to your riches and lusts and dead-end endeavours…put it off until later…Have the riches of this life now and enjoy the warm company of your friends in Hell later. Or…
Deny yourself, crucify your Worldly passions. Walk away from them. Why…..?
M’t:6:21: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
M’t:6:24: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Money, pleasure, the World)
Did you ever consider that Jesus would call you a ‘FRIEND” ? Yes…IF…
Joh:15:14: Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Joh:15:15: Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Just how “close” can we come to Jesus?
Joh:14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh:14:23: Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (Abide with us!)
Joh:6:40: And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (See’s Him? Everyone?) This implies a personal one-on-one with Jesus…if you are seeking Him out!
And a few examples of the downside of following Jesus…
Lu:21:16: And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
Joh:16:2: They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Joh:16:3: And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
The World hates the Spirit of God and those that manifest it. You will never find eternal life by sitting by the side of the way or going through the religious motions on Sunday. You must SEEK OUT Jesus and TAKE HOLD of Him. (24/7) He will remember your name in the end because He abided with you here in this sick world.
He led you to Himself by the calling of God the Father. There are only two choices!
M’t:21:44: And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Jesus is the stone the builders rejected. Today’s religions and “Faiths” leave Him out. They have “left their first love”. If you are seeking Him (constantly) you will eventually fall on Him (the Stone) and be broken (humbled, stripped bare down to your soul) and then receive His strength and life. If you do not decide to earnestly seek Him, you will be ground to powder by this “Stone” and cast into eternal ruin.
You decide. You have been encouraged. Ignorance is no excuse before the Judge of all Mankind. This is serious stuff! It’s getting harder to find true, dedicated followers of Jesus anymore these days…We see very little of the “fruits” being borne from the midst of all this “religion” around here.
AMEN
