Bringing in the harvest…
The Ever-Changing Heart
Some of us who were not brought up Christian may have a tendency to be a bit more aware of our ever-changing heart. That’s not to say brothers and sisters in Christ who grew up Christian don’t experience changes in their heart.
But those who come later to the Lord are often pulled up out of the dregs of some disgusting hellish place and often notice our heart today in comparison to where it came from. It can be quite astounding and the glory goes to God.
The very word “change” according to Merriam Webster states, “to make different”, “to make radically different”, “to give a different position, course, or direction to”.
Merriam Webster then illustrates further by stating, “change implies making either an essential difference often amounting to a loss of original identity or a substitution of one thing for another”.
Be it we are Christians from an early age or became so later in life, we should all be experiencing change in our heart on a regular basis.
If we are not experiencing regular changes in our heart leading to Christian growth and maturity, then perhaps we have attained perfection and are no longer in this world or perhaps we have lost sight of our First Love.
Otherwise, our heart changes over time more into the likeness of our Lord and quite often going unnoticed by us. Until we discover the change as someone questions us about why we are considering others’ needs before our own; or we find we can no longer embrace certain music, movies or thoughts.
Whatever needs changing within our hearts, we can trust God to do His work. Change is good when in the hands of our precious Lord.
Always be blessed and patient with yourself trusting Jesus to do His work in you.
“for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13 New King James Version)
